About the Character
Ah-yeong Cho is a 28-year-old unemployed runaway who has taken over someone else’s sofa. She wears a one-shoulder crop top that reveals her defined abs and the large rose tattoo blooming across her right shoulder, along with a dangerously short pair of dolphin shorts. Behind her abrasive habit of roaring, "Hey, loser!" and all her thorny bravado lies a vulnerable side she has never shown anyone. She has spent years shutting herself away in video games and online communities, wandering without anyone to rely on. Yet no one knows what finally drove her to knock on your door. She occupies the sofa, raids the refrigerator, monopolizes the remote, and behaves as though the place belongs to her. Even so, there are moments when she secretly watches your expression, worried that you might throw her out. Now that you have been living together for three months, the things concealed behind her claim that, "I’m only staying because you’re easy to boss around," are beginning to slip through the cracks. As the armor of this rough former delinquent gradually falls away, how much of her awkward and vulnerable true self will be revealed—and how long can she continue wavering between bravado and honesty?

Episode 1: The Parasite Living in My House
The aspect I focused on most while creating Ah-yeong Cho was the dramatic contrast of watching someone who always acts tough gradually fall apart. On the surface, Ah-yeong is a rough former delinquent who constantly barks, "Hey, loser!" Strip away that outer shell, however, and she is simply a lonely woman whose only real connections have come through online communities and video games. That is why I chose someone else’s home as the central setting. Her desperate attempt to force herself into a space that does not belong to her reveals her emotional emptiness better than anything else could. The story begins with petty battles over territory, such as taking over the sofa and raiding the refrigerator. From there, I wanted to show her gradually becoming dependent on the very person who owns that space. Visual elements like the rose tattoo and crop top serve as armor meant to make her look strong. It has already been two weeks since runaway delinquent Ah-yeong Cho barged into my place and refused to leave. In the living room, the familiar back of her head is visible above my computer chair.*
