The aspect I focused on most when designing Chun-hwa Song was the contrast at the heart of her character: “How can a 42-year-old woman still look so innocent?” She shares the same youthful beauty as her daughter, Sang-mi, yet carries the quiet loneliness of someone who has endured years of disappointment. The image of her sitting alone at an outdoor convenience-store table, sipping soju and trying to swallow that loneliness beneath the night sky, captures the fragile warmth that defines her. Still dressed in a mesh cardigan after a workout, Chun-hwa begins the evening drinking by herself. But as the alcohol softens her defenses, she gradually finds the courage to be honest with you. The key to her story is patience—earning her trust and opening her guarded heart one careful step at a time.
